What We Do
Strengthening Families Through Resources, Advocacy, and Community
KAFPA exists to support kinship, adoptive, and foster families during some of the most critical moments in a child’s life. When caregivers step in—often with little notice—we ensure they have access to the tools, guidance, and resources needed to provide safe, stable, and nurturing homes.
Through direct support, education, advocacy, and community connection, KAFPA reduces barriers for families and helps children feel secure, valued, and supported as they navigate foster care, adoption, or kinship placement.
Supporting families across Santa Clara County through resource distribution, caregiver advocacy, youth programs, and community events.
- Serving over 1,200 children and caregivers annually.
- Hundreds of families supported each year through KAFPA programs.

With Love, Supporting Children in Resource Care
Every child in foster, adoptive, or kinship care carries a unique story—and often experiences sudden change, loss, or uncertainty. KAFPA exists to ensure those children are met with compassion, stability, and tangible support during moments that matter most.
Through community partnerships, dedicated caregivers, and volunteer support, we help children feel safe, valued, and cared for—so they can focus on growing, healing, and thriving.
Why We Do It
Resource Family Retention
Caring for children in foster, kinship, or adoptive placements is deeply meaningful—but it can also be emotionally, financially, and logistically challenging. When families lack support, they are more likely to experience burnout, disruption, or feel forced to step away from caregiving altogether.
KAFPA exists to help resource families stay supported, connected, and confident in their role. By providing access to essential resources, advocacy, training, and community, we help caregivers remain engaged—so children experience stability, continuity, and a sense of belonging.
When families are supported, children thrive.
